Graduation Speech!

Hello everyone, i would like to thank my parents for letting me go to this great school next year and for letting me have all of these unforgettable memories here at IST. This is a very sad moment and a very happy one too, sad because some of us are moving to different school and happy because we are all growing up together. Thank you friends, family and teachers for these amazing years!!

Buongiorno a tutti!

Personal Entry on Trieste

Hey okay well if you are coming or would like to come to Italy i would tell you to come to Trieste. Why well because it has a beautiful sea shore that is on the Mediterranean Sea! the water in the summer there is warn and gorgeous and it has so many beaches! There is a castle on the shore, it is called the Castello di Miramare it had a very famous Prince Maximilian and his wife Charlotte. He died in Mexico and never saw the castle get finished. You can take a tour of the castle, it shows you everything it is very pretty inside. In the summer time the bar is open in its gardens and the lights are on at night. It has the most beautiful gardens so many flowers and now they put a green house there and it is filled with butterflies. The sea underneath the castle is protected and the fish that swim there cannot be fished and no boats are allowed to pass. So no swimmers either there was only once a scuba team that could go and i went! It is really beautiful and there are even caves! it has such a variety of fish that is amazing. Then in Trieste there is the Risiera di San Sabba that is the only concentration camp in Italy. t is a very sad place but it shows you how the Germans tried to cover everything up. There people were cremated or burned to death and they were kept in little camber as big as your shower or smaller. It is a very sad place and we went there with the school if you come here you should go. Now that you know some stuff about Trieste come!

Editorial Commentary, Buddhism

Buddhism is originally from Tibet and is still practiced there, it is the native culture. The main thing that you have to understand about Buddhism is that they think that you should think more about others than about yourself and that you should do anything to help others, especially the poor. Don't get to attached to material goods instead you should get attached to feeling and how people are on the inside. Since people are a material you shouldn't even get attached to them but to their emotions. The body is just a material thing in which you learn your lesson through weather it may be compassion, anger management, or to love. Buddhism is a very simple religion, you aren't forced to do anything but you can help someone by meditation, meditation is when you relax your whole body get rid of everything around you and try to send your positive energy to someone. If someone in your family is sick you can send your energy to them. The most valued people of all in this religion are called Buddhas they are people that have woken up from the sleep of ignorance -they have understood the nature of reality- and are ready to pass their knowledge on. From what we know the Buddha used to teach people there the is one thing on the earth: suffering that is cause by desire and to stay on the straight path, you have to try to follow the four Nobel truths which are:

  • Suffering: all the things that you want but can't get is suffering, birth, money, aging, illness etc.

  • The cause of suffering: the desire that then lets you be reborn.

  • The cessation of suffering: when you make the desire stop.

  • The way leading to the cessation of suffering: the Nobel Eightfold Path.

When you die they think that you wait for you family, switch places -mom becomes daughter, father becomes mother etc.-then you get assigned a lesson and then you are reborn but this time you have a whole new lesson to learn and you don't remember any of your past lives. So you are always together, if you grandfather dies then he is waiting for all of you up there. 365

Historical Entry, Castello Di Miramare

The most beautiflu caste in Trieste in my opinion is the Catello di Miramare. As you can see in photo on top it is surruonded by water. In the castle there lived Maximilian and his wife Charlotte. He discoverd the bay of Grignano while sailing, he looking for some refuge from a great storm. He started constructing it in 1856 it got iits name from awsome sea views. He was living in the castle while the workers were constucting it and he never got to see his gougeous castle. He went to Mexico and there he died... his wife Charlotte died shortly afterwards. Now the castle is a museum for the public. You can go and see exacly were he lived. The castle has beautiful botanic gardens were there are bars in the summer and there is the natural sea water reserve in its surrondings. There are no swimmers or boats -nothing- swimming or passing by it. The fish there are not kept but they can come in or out whenver the want. If you want to know some more about Maximilian here it is: His full name is Maximilian of Hanseburg, he bacame the emperor of Mexico were he died. His garden is 22 achers long and was designed by Archdue Maximilian. On the cliff were the Castle was built on there was no agriculture but now there are various tropical plants. The furniture in the castle is definitly one of a kind and of the time period. The castle is very attractive all time of year.

Trieste, Comune

In Trieste the most famous Piazza is the "Piazza dell' Unità d'Italia" and in it there is the town hall. My dad works there and I think it is one of the most beautiful buildings in all Trieste. The mayor works there and his name is Roberto Dipiazza and he has been the mayor since 2001 and was elected mayor twice. He is born on February 1, 1953 and he first became the mayor of Muggia and then the mayor of Trieste. The town has many old buildings that have been preserved very well. The town hall looks down on all the piazza and the Mediterranean Sea it is one of the most beautiful views of the city. As you can see in this picture it has a gourgeous structure and a beautiful shape the picture was taken in the winter at Christmas time. It is situated on the gorgeous "Piaza dell'Unità d'Italia" which has some of the most important building of the city. Like the town hall and one of the most important hotels of the city of Trieste, it is called "The Duchi da Osta" and it serves amazing food and has great services. In the piazza there is also at least 2 bars one of them is also a restaurant which in the summer has set lots of tables out outside. From what i have told you about the piazza and about the town hall which in itlaian you say: comune, you could make out that Trieste is one town to see! If you ever come by Venice it is worth the trip to stop here!269

It means strangers like us it has lots of little stories in it my favorite is: about a boy that his friends call Testone in which all the kids around him take drugs but he doesn't and he uses another way to let out his anger which is soccer. He play in a local little team and he wishes to go to one of the famous teams and the most famous one of Brazil is called Botafogo. One day a representative of that team come and goes to see him play since he is one of the best if not the best player in his town he does a great game until the end were he want to make is finishing move and the goaly grabs his feet and he falls the next thing he knows he has a cast but from that day on he was so happy and Vittorio asks him why, and Testone shows him a piece of paper that was in his cast that said: you are really good kid as soon as you gt better call me on this number and well make you try out for the team.

Drama Entry, A Mid Summer Night's Dream

This year in drama we are doing the play a Mid Summer Night's Dream. In this play there are to many boys so some girls have to play boy parts, or more than one part. I am one of the people that have to be a boy, my part is Bottom he is one of the lead parts, Hermia, Helena, Puck, Bottom, Lysander, and Demetrious are all lead parts. Bottom is a VERY dramatic person that wants to become and actror, in the end he gets to play infront of the duke and he plays the part of Pyramuos in the play Pyramous and Thisbie. In the play Thisbie is a boy (so the parts are reversed). The other main parts are in another story, Helena loves Demetious but Demetrious loves Hermia and Hermia loves Lysander and Lysander love Hermia. Then Puck puts a magical flowers on the boys' eye and both of them fall in love with Helena but she thinks it's a joke! In the end Puck puts the flowers on the right people's eye and it is a happy ending.183
