Personal Entry on Trieste

Hey okay well if you are coming or would like to come to Italy i would tell you to come to Trieste. Why well because it has a beautiful sea shore that is on the Mediterranean Sea! the water in the summer there is warn and gorgeous and it has so many beaches! There is a castle on the shore, it is called the Castello di Miramare it had a very famous Prince Maximilian and his wife Charlotte. He died in Mexico and never saw the castle get finished. You can take a tour of the castle, it shows you everything it is very pretty inside. In the summer time the bar is open in its gardens and the lights are on at night. It has the most beautiful gardens so many flowers and now they put a green house there and it is filled with butterflies. The sea underneath the castle is protected and the fish that swim there cannot be fished and no boats are allowed to pass. So no swimmers either there was only once a scuba team that could go and i went! It is really beautiful and there are even caves! it has such a variety of fish that is amazing. Then in Trieste there is the Risiera di San Sabba that is the only concentration camp in Italy. t is a very sad place but it shows you how the Germans tried to cover everything up. There people were cremated or burned to death and they were kept in little camber as big as your shower or smaller. It is a very sad place and we went there with the school if you come here you should go. Now that you know some stuff about Trieste come!

Editorial Commentary, Buddhism

Buddhism is originally from Tibet and is still practiced there, it is the native culture. The main thing that you have to understand about Buddhism is that they think that you should think more about others than about yourself and that you should do anything to help others, especially the poor. Don't get to attached to material goods instead you should get attached to feeling and how people are on the inside. Since people are a material you shouldn't even get attached to them but to their emotions. The body is just a material thing in which you learn your lesson through weather it may be compassion, anger management, or to love. Buddhism is a very simple religion, you aren't forced to do anything but you can help someone by meditation, meditation is when you relax your whole body get rid of everything around you and try to send your positive energy to someone. If someone in your family is sick you can send your energy to them. The most valued people of all in this religion are called Buddhas they are people that have woken up from the sleep of ignorance -they have understood the nature of reality- and are ready to pass their knowledge on. From what we know the Buddha used to teach people there the is one thing on the earth: suffering that is cause by desire and to stay on the straight path, you have to try to follow the four Nobel truths which are:

  • Suffering: all the things that you want but can't get is suffering, birth, money, aging, illness etc.

  • The cause of suffering: the desire that then lets you be reborn.

  • The cessation of suffering: when you make the desire stop.

  • The way leading to the cessation of suffering: the Nobel Eightfold Path.

When you die they think that you wait for you family, switch places -mom becomes daughter, father becomes mother etc.-then you get assigned a lesson and then you are reborn but this time you have a whole new lesson to learn and you don't remember any of your past lives. So you are always together, if you grandfather dies then he is waiting for all of you up there. 365
